Bye Bye World!

Goodbye Summer | bjvear
I made a big decision ~ I have decided to cut and eliminate some of the things that I think I have to do to make more time for the things I want to do.

One of the things that is going to go is my studio ~ BdotDepictions.  I haven’t been doing photography seriously for a least a year now, and paying to keep my studio site up and running when I haven’t sold a single piece of work doesn’t make much sense for me right now.

Especially when I am not really in a position to be able to do something about the lack of sales ~ i.e., marketing!

In keeping with that, I have decided to put Depict This! away too, so I am putting the blog on hiatus until further notice.  This is mainly so I can focus on finishing the novel I am co-authoring with my sister.  We are really close to finishing our second manuscript {we have finished the first one, but need both finished before we can look at publishing}, but I find that I just don’t have enough motivation to work on it.

Blogging takes all of my writing juice ~ I’m just dry by the time it comes to the novel and I hate that.  I haven’t done any quality work on it for ages…  Yes, I know our new arrival into the family has quite a lot to do with that, but I also know my limitations.  If I want to see our books published, I need to shut shop on the blog temporarily.

Never fear ~ it’s only for a little while!  I already have a ton of plans for my blogging come back!

It’s going to involve a complete rebrand ~ new blog, new blog name and everything….  But I can’t tell you any more.

I won’t take Depict This! down; I want to leave the old blog up for a while so that everyone came reference my old posts if they wish too.  I just won’t be updating DT! even though I’ll still be around on Twitter, Instagram{@bjvear}, and Pinterest if you want to check out what I am up to in the mean time.

Still, it was worth it for this!

She's here!

She finally made it!

Isabelle Patricia Joy was born Thursday last week after a loooonnggggg 4 and a half days of prodromal labor.  So far I am tired, sleepy, tired and oh, so hungry{!}, but very, very happy.

Our little family is taking a while to adjust to the new baby, but Theodore is a super big brother.  I love how sweet he is whilst interacting with her ~ cuddling her, inspecting her hands and feet, patting her head if she's crying; they are so adorable together!

() ~

In the mean time, I missed out on a couple of pregnancy style outfit posts because of all the pre-baby drama that I might put up while I wait for life to settle down again....  Failing that, I'll see you on the other side of the newborn sleep-deprivation fog!

Hit the pause button...

Sorry for the long absence everyone ~ I'm just popping into say that life has pretty much ground to a halt while we wait for this little one's arrival.

I do hope to be back soon, and I'll definitely let you know when the baby decides to make an appearance.

If I look hot and tired….

Well, that’s only because I AM hot and tired!  Outfit posts seem impossible in this sort of heat, you’ll be lucky if I manage to get half dressed…  *side eye*    So I leave you with some Instagram shots of life around the blue house at the moment.

Not much else is happening…  Unless you count the fact that there’s nine weeks until little Bump is supposed to be joining us out in the wide world.  Eeep!  Nine weeks!  That’s so close!  That’s so far away!  I have a million things to do!!  ….   > . >

Yup, I’m now in that delightfully torn frame of mind a woman feels when the baby’s time draws near.  Don’t worry, I’m sure that it will only be a few more weeks and I will be all like “Get this thing out, or so help me!…”     ._____.     Ah, life with a pregnant lady.  It’s interesting, even for me!

~ * Little boy fun & we are out celebrating our 3rd year anniversary!  * ~

Between my youngest sister’s wedding, the worst head cold in the history of mankind {on top of nasty hay fever naturally}, and planning for a Christmas holiday in South Australia, I thought I’d better pop in and let you all know I’m not dead!

Just rhhhheaaallly busy.   > . <

I have pretty pictures to show though, so that’s something right?

Goodbye Bluebell Dreamer…

I really hate to say this, but I think I might have to put Depict This! on a permanent hiatus…

I don’t want to, but a part of me does, and I am really confused as to what to do.

I want to keep blogging ~ I love taking photos {outfit or otherwise}, I love sharing things about a vintage lifestyle, mine or other fabulous vintageistas I know.  I love writing, I love the community, and I love having a space to express myself where other people actually get it.

But here’s the thing ~ I am tired.  It’s hard to keep up with the house, the toddler, and the horse {of which I now have two, thanks to number one’s lease ending suddenly!}.  It’s hard to have to time to just enjoy family life.  I want to be able to sit down and paint my nails without stressing about all the things I am currently not doing.  I want to be able to work on my novel.  Blogging just seems to drain all my writing juice clear away.

Not to mention baby number two on the way…  We’re 16 weeks along and that magical second trimester energy they keep going on about?  Yah, not happening so much here.

*sigh*  I am sorry to be such a blue blogger over here, but I guess I need to talk this out.

I kind of want to keep DT! going and just post whenever I feel like it, but at the moment I don’t know if that’d be even once a week and that kind of just bums me out.  I personally dislike it when I find an awesome blog {NOT saying that DT! is awesome ~ just citing some real-live examples} and it’s hardly EVER updated.  If I really like it, I might follow/keep reading anyway, but otherwise I feel like there’s no point.  So I don’t want to let any of my readers down, but I don’t think I want to shut down altogether either….

Although, if it came to it, I probably would close DT! if only to get rid of one more commitment I feel I can’t keep up with.

What say you?  Have you guys ever been through this kind of dilemma?

P.S. ~  On a happier note, I have been calling those flowers “bluebells” forever, but apparently they are Grape Hyacinths.  Aren’t they cute though?  I have them running wild in my lawn and I love it…  ^ u ^

Baby2Announce_22-09-2012

Annd that’s the big secret.  I did write out a lovely post to accompany the announcement, but it was in my head and now I’ve forgotten what I was going to say...

P.S. ~ Yes, we are very excited! > U < ! !

P.S.S. ~ I can’t wait to show you the cute vintage maternity patterns I picked up!  Of course, it remains to be seen if I can actually get around to making them up, but I will have a go at it.  : )
