Ho-hum.

Sunshine and lollipops... dumda-de-dah-de-ddah....

Spent the last week or two dealing with craziness and more craziness. I tell you what, traveling might be fun - but seriously, before you go anywhere for an extended amount of time, take into consideration whether or not you are prepared to deal with change when you come back.

To be honest, I'd already thought of that before my sister and I had headed overseas, but we both never dreamed that our world wouldn't just change, but shatter into a million irreparable pieces.

It's so hard to take in, and really, all you want to do is run away from it all. Far, far, far away....
But one step at a time, take just one step at a time and things will get better. They have to 'coz I can't live like this much longer!

On to a much nicer topic - I had my first hip-hop dance class this week and was so pleased when I managed to do it alright. I mean, it's easy enough to dance to your own beat, and even to do it well enough to look good - but dancing to someone elses choreography - that's when things get tricky!

One thing I didn't do so well on - turns. I really need to practise my turns. But other then that; I was doing non-beginner routine work in my first class. *whheeee* *is happy* I just love to dance.

Spent my public holiday chillaxing with friends - had some time at Pine Island in the sun. Mmmm, yummy sunshine. It was a bit of a shock when we got there though, the place was crawling with teen-i-boppers. Droves of boys trying to be cool by swearing their heads off and swimming in the icy-cold water and flocks of girls giggling and whispering on the sand.

Rather reminded me of swarms of ants at a picnic actually... Hard to believe that so many of the pre-teen crowd could fit in the same place, but once you went away from the 'main' beach it got better. Suppose they where as happy to see us 'older' crowd scuttle off as we where happy to do the scuttling!

So it was sunshine, than after my class I met up with my friends again - we went and saw "Death Race". That movie is seriously cool! Ok, I will admit that it was far too gory and violent in some places for my tastes (if it had've been at an M level, I would have liked it better, but that's just me personally) - but the rest was awesome!

Okay - fast cars, and even better, guns!! There were some decent plot twists, not all that surprising, but enough to keep you interested, and they didn't play on graphics to much. Really I thought it was put together well if you like the violent/car/thrashing sort of movie.... Come to think of it, it really is a total guys movie. You end up coming out going "Now I want to drive my car home.... FAST". Sweet dude! *mwhhaaahhhaa* I can just picture BoB with a mounted machine gun... My car would look soooo cool.

Anyways, that's it for now. B. out.

Mischief and Mayhem

My two favourite words - mischief and mayhem. Wanna know why? 'Coz translated they just mean good banter!

After contracting a serious case of "C.P.S."-itis (Clearly People Suck) on Saturday, I was relieved when a cure swiftly marched in. I rode Copper out Sat. arvo. and it was great - (he jumped like a stag), but not only that, Plans Where Concocted. (*mwhaahaaaaahhaaaa* Partner in crime, M.M., Mega-Genius, helped the whole deal along substantially, but I'll get back to that.)

Bt, Em-J, Random and I hit the Cotter caves after I got back from riding - it was later in the arvo., but still light enough to explore a bit. We took torches, but weren't really impressed with the shortness of the cave access. You went about two feet in and stopped. = p Stupido.

But we still had a good time, trotted up to the top of the hill, shook off swarms of flying ant-y things and drove home in time for food!

Then, the night was upon us and it was time for the Fraser Girls and The Boys to go bush. We stopped and shopped for supplies, which didn't take long. (Got to ride in the REXyyyyyyy!!! [Super sweet Suburu WRX - owned by Saunter. Was v. happy when he drove it fast. Would be even happier if at some point he was driving it faster and we were sideways.. .. ^^ I just gotta need for speed baby!]).

Anyway, I digress. All seven of us piled into Sabi-master's ute and our Land Rover that Dad had reluctantly allowed me to drive out and headed out into the bush.

(Another side track - how much do you love the fact that Canberra has so much accessible bush land? We do!)

We hit some caves and held our breaths as the Boys went over the top of some very high bars that blocked off a very large drop... *meep!* Saunter, Sabi-master and Mega Genius disappeared into the depths whilst J-man, Random, Em-J and myself went and explored some other not-so-exciting places. I still managed to get myself stuck and was 'rescued' by the J-man, but owell - that's me for you. I either get myself out of the sticky situations or someone does it for me!

We soon got bored of the whole place though, there wasn't much to see - so we piled back into the trusty 'mobiles and headed west. Tell you what - dirt track driving is super fun and kinda scary at night!! Espec. with a twelve ton Land Rover that doesn't like to stop at interchanges at the best of times, let alone on a dry gravel track that's twice as steep and half as wide!

*rubs hands* Brilliant!! I guess I can say that the Rover has officially been christened as more than just an urban assault machine, it has moved up another level to official off-roading(but yet has to make it to the bush-bashing crown). We crossed a creek and the water came up over the bonnet and for one heart-stopping moment only water was illuminated by the head lights, the the beam reached no further than splashing liquid - pitch black and I couldn't see in front of me! Yyp!!

"For Frasers alike - charge!!" Full steam (sort of of - more like steady steam actually) ahead, and we had officially completed our first creek crossing that was more then just a puddle. Swweeeet dude! (Totally.)

We found a cosy place to further our banter-ous activities and basically... Well, had fun! Let's just say there was some marbles, juice bottles and Irn-Bru involved. 'Course, I won't be telling the half of it, but we managed to keep ourselves amused. Discussions of 'Top-Gear' and blowing up stuff - particularly caravans, was high on the list, and the quote of the night belongs to the penguins.

"Ka-boom?"

"Yes Rico, Ka-boom!!"

Like they say, 'It's all fun and games 'til somebody gets hurt'. Well, none of us had that problem, it was more 'something' in this case. Of course, when you're out driving at night the most serious hazard is Kangaroos. (yep, with a Kapital 'K'!) Close on the heels of Roos is Wombats. Not drunk drivers, not hooning idiots, not even other cars, but Roos.

We saw a lot of Roos, missed by inches a few wombats as well. All was fine until we where heading home. It was a clear road and then - there was this Roo. That's all. Thump. Crunch. Dead. The boys had to finish the poor thing off and I was all "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! What am I going to tell Dad???"

Dad turned out to be reasonably fine about it, but I doubt he'll ever let me take the Rover out again. = p Which totally sucks.

Kind of a bad way to end the night, but it was still great and we had a blast. Literally. It might be totally forward of me to say, and so-not-going-to-happen, but I'll say it anyway. I can't wait to do it again!

Cheers, b. :3

P.s - Super great way to celebrate a birthday too!

* Rules are like paperclips: meant to keep things together, fun to bend, and easily twisted out of shape.

* There is no problem the human mind cannot solve or create.

* Step One is learning the ropes. Step Two is chewing through them.

I like number one - sounds like it should be my new motto eh? 6-6.... ^^ ! So much fun!!

Fiscal Frets

Is anyone besides myself worried about the growing financial crisis in America atm?

I've heard all the arguments:
- Australia relies on an export market to China to get cash flowing into our economy, not the American market (I.e. - we only have to start worrying when the Asian market crashes).

- Australia has a safer/better credit loaning system (no mortgages to those who can't afford them) by matching real equity that the borrower owns with the amount they loan from the bank.

- Australia doesn't have any foreign debt to get caught up in (Supposedly).

- Consumers ought to be able to receive interest cuts when the Reserve Bank drops its rates (Mind the 'ought' here - not necessarily going to happen), which in turn should free up cash to flow through the economy.

BUT - here are MY reasons why all doesn't seems as peachy-keen as the government would have us believe.

- How many businesses (superannuation funds, for instance) have interests in America? At the moment, it's not just US banks that are suffering, but hedge funds as well. Who says our own super funds aren't tied up in a sinking ship (more like the Titanic than a dingy) in overseas investments?

- I heard someone say the European economy was going strong, but I have my doubts - banks in Britain, Netherlands, Iceland(? I think) and other banks have needed serious bail-out from the EU over the last few weeks thanks to the sinking USA Titanic.

- If the interests cuts aren't passed on by the banks (Rudd went out and a gave them the best excuse ever - thanks Kev.) because of banking costs 'going up' Australian economy is going to face similar problems as the rest of the globe is. The cash simply won't flow when investors and consumers alike wonder how Wall Street is going to recover not only from the credit crunch, but also from the knock back from Congress of the USA government's bail-out plan.

Cash flow will freeze. What does that say for the average worker? No money going out, no money coming in and the debt keeps on piling up. Even more so as the banks get desperate for cash to cover the debts they'll be saddled with from overseas institutions not being able pay back the money they owe.

Big mess. Big question - do you pull out your money to stuff it under a mattress? If you've got investments in stocks - well, I'm no financial expert, but I would. Who knows how far the tsunami effect of the Wall Street fallout is going to reach.

Best piece of advice I've found so far on this whole matter?

"If you don't over borrow or overspend, you're far less vulnerable to whatever problems the financial system may have." ~ Time September 29 2008, pg 23.

I.e. - Live within your means!

Not that I can claim I have particularly well, but as the Time magazine also points out, this problem isn't different, just bigger. I guess it's a heads up. It's happened before, just in the thousands, or millions instead of billions and trillions - just do what you can and don't spend too much!

*sigh* Sorry for the rant, this global crisis really has me on edge for some reason.....

Hm. Should be alright for Australia I think. I'll be keeping an eye out on the international/local developments though - this thing is far from over.

Suss the Stump

October looms deadly near with the on-hand arrival of Black Stump this weekend. For those un-familiar with the term - Black Stump is an annual Christian Music Festival that runs for four days over the long weekend of October. Lots of fun, dust(or mud depending on the weather) and sour slushies!

I don't know how much the same it's going to be - Stump has changed venues this year, instead of being at the Scout Park (near Campbelltown) it's at the Equestrian Centre in Sydney (Homebush?) instead.

And then there's the whole friends issue... Trust me, Stump is NO fun without people to hang with. At this rate I'm feeling that the whole affair is looking rather shaky. It's kinda hard to be phsyced for something you have a sinking knot in your tummy about.

It's either gonna be great, or tottallly bite. Let's have the fingers crossed that it's the former rather than the latter.

Found this....

Found this on my friend's (very much miss-eded little sister in a certain place in a certain country - give a guess... Yup, T.R. Scotland) Bebo page, loved it so much I'm posting it up asap. Mind you, in re-reading these I feel the sudden urge to comment...

Peter Kay's Universal Truths

1) Triangular sandwiches taste better than square ones. (So don't... Maybe in Boy World, but not in mine. Is it because 'Mummy' always cut 'em that way? Yes. That was sarcastic.)

2) At the end of every party there is always a girl crying. *sigh* Accurate obervation I'm afraid. I could make a "Male Chauvinist Pig" comment here, but I think what would be the most appropriate return would simply be - "It's my party and I'll cry if I want too..." If anyone has ever listened to the words of that song, you'll probably understand the REAL meaning as to why there's always a girl crying at the end of a party. They are NOT always joyous occasions peoples!!! *finishes rant*

3) One of the most awkward things that can happen in a pub is when yourpint-to-toilet cycle gets synchronised with a complete stranger. Considering the making it through the lines for the girl's toliet is quite like a trek up Mt. Everest (it takes a billion LIGHTYEARS) I'm sure we (the female spieces in general) don't have this problem as much. You learn to HOLD your liquids... Although if there are any females out there that wish to disagree - go right ahead. I'm more than willing to be proved wrong.

4) You've never quite sure whether it's ok to eat green crisps. *snort* Green crisps - er, CHIPS in Aussie lingo (not Scottish!) are the best. Closest thing you can get to green eggs and ham on a regular basis. Yum!

5) Everyone who grew up in the 80's has entered the digits 55378008into a calculator. Really? Whatever.

6) Reading when you're drunk is horrible. Considering that your mental capacity is severely diminished - I'd believe that.

7) Sharpening a pencil with a knife makes you feel really manly. *giggles* Wouldn't know - but I'll take your word for it.

8) You're never quite sure whether it's against the law or not to have a fire in your back garden. Come to Australia - then you'll know for dead cert!!! *buzzer noise* Soooo illegal!

10) Nobody ever dares make cup-a-soup in a bowl. I do! I do dare!!! I defy the rules of Cup-a-Soup and make it in a bowl. Hey, it even could be a Facebook group - (Just another one of the zillion, squilion of 'em - no, I won't torture you and actually create it. >0<)

11) You never know where to look when eating a banana. Lol. 'Nuff said.

12) Its impossible to describe the smell of a wet cat. Much like a wet dog?

13) Prodding a fire with a stick makes you feel manly. I love this statement 'coz you can totally tell it's true eh girls.

14) Rummaging in an overgrow garden will always turn up a bouncy ball. Or a tennis ball.

15) You always feel a bit scared when stroking horses. *raises eyebrow* I think you're alone on this one mate... This is not a universal truth but a personal one, 'coz there are many, many, many enthusiasts (Known to all non-horsey people as The Mental Horse Lovers - yes, capitals are necessary.) that love that noble animal, the Equus caballus that would never feel a shred of fear to stroke a horse. Yes, I'm proud to be one of 'em.

16) Everyone always remembers the day a dog ran into your school. Um. Not if you were homeschooled....

17) the most embarrassing thing you can do as schoolchild is to call your teacher mum or dad. Or your boss... Even worse - trust me!

18) The smaller the monkey the more it looks like it would kill you at the first given opportunity. *eee* Evil monkeys! So true! Of course, chickens are worse.

19) Some days you see lots of people on crutches. Nothin' ground breaking about this one. True enough.

20) Every bloke has at some stage while taking a pee, flushed half-way through and then raced against the flush. *cough* Boys.

21) Old women with mobile phones look wrong. Old men do too!!

22) Its impossible to look cool whilst picking up a Frisbee. Agree a 100% - you just look silly picking up a fallen Frisbee - one of Murphy's Laws I suppose.

23) Driving through a tunnel makes you feel excited. Oh ayyyyeeee..... *Is very sarcastic*

24) You never ever run out of salt. Yup. You many run out of different varities of salt, but there is always salt in the cupboard.

25) Old ladies can eat more than you think. So can young ladies - they just don't like to let on!

26) You can't respect a man who carries a dog. *snort* I can't respect a woman either. Paz Hilton anyone? SO not.

27) There's no panic like the panic you momentarily feel when you've got your hand or head stuck in something. *shudders* Don't lets even go there.

28) No one knows the origins of their metal coat hangers. Maybe it's from that place that the one sock of your pair goes to - maybe the metal coat hangers are the socks in their afterlives!!!!!!!!! I mean - it's true, you don't know where the socks go; or where the hanger come from...... >>

29) Despite constant warning, you have never met anybody who has had their arm broken by a swan. Nope - can't say I have. However, I know that the most unlikely of animals usually have a nasty surprise, so it's not like you'd try anything - right?!

30) The most painful household incident is wearing socks and stepping on an upturned plug. Ayia - bandit! How much does that HURT!!!!!!! (And barefoot is worse... Happens alot more here too.)

31) People who don't drive slam car doors too hard. Totally! I swear one of these days, my poor car is going to be shaken to bits by violent people who don't stop to consider the sanctity of the car door.

32) You've turned into your dad the day you put aside a thin piece of wood specifically to stir paint with. Or your Mum the day you try to resurect a bag of rotten veggies 'coz you don't want to waste stuff.

33) Everyone had an uncle who tried to steal their nose. Er - I hope I didn't miss out on an important childhood delevopement expiriance; 'coz I didn't... Ah! So that explains it!

34) Bricks are horrible to carry. Too true.

35) In every plate of chips there is a bad chip. Or two.

36) Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit; Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad. *Shakes head* I fear for the male population if that's as good as it gets.... Ohwell, nice knowing you!

Hope you enjoyed the randomness as much as I did -

TTFN, b.

Unexpected

Funny how things are just so... unexpected! I mean really, I didn't expect Stump to be only two weekends away (including this one - kiya!) o>o , I didn't expect to be broke in two weeks time (thanks to some shifts laying off - all at once too...) and I certainly didn't expect to miss Scotland as much as I am!

Of course, that's a wee bit by the by, work and life'n'stuff appear to be rolling along well enough. Still stressed out - can't really work out why, but that's okay 'coz it just is. Take one day at a time and you can't go wrong!

So yeh, Scotland. Land of the wet fog, wet rain, wet mud, wet wind and Irn Bru. *sigh* Home sweet home! It's weird and totally unexpected but I guess it's true - you can fall in love with a country. The problem is - it's not going to be the same the second time around. I find that really hard to think about, but it is what it is. Life moves on, and just 'coz I'd like to think that a wee corner of the world has been frozen in time, just for me.... Well that's unlikely - and I certainly wouldn't expect that!!

Dunno what it is. I'm still so confused as to why life seems to suck back in Australia. I'm sure it wasn't this bad before I left! Or was it that I didn't know any better?

Scary thought. Who wants to be a prisoner of their own life? Put your hand up! *is facetious*

Don't mind me.

On a better, brighter note - horse riding has few charms to the general world, but I am very glad I have a gorgeous horse waiting for me. Copper really does cure all that ails me, and a bit more. Somehow things are better viewed 63 inches from the ground (or 15.3 hh in horse-talk) from the back of a loyal friend.

Speaking of loyal friends, I am pleased to note that things are looking up on the friend front, it's taking time (like I said it would) but I really do think things are working out. Thankfully!

But take me back to the top o' the wourld where the grass is green and the tree are greener. Where everyone loves to dance and the skies are brighter longer (in the summer anyway), and everyone knows that you can travel 30ml over the speed limit and it don't matter!!

*my boni lies over the ocean,
my boni lies over the sea....*

Lol. :3 Adios amigo, b.

At work (or play)

You know what? Pull the wire binding off a file (with no intention of using it for its original purpose again) twist it all up - and volia! You get a lovely art work to sit on top of your computer. Give it a name (mine became "Twisted Desire" made out of twisted wire by B. Fraser 09/09/2008 within two seconds of completing the "piece"), make a little tag for it, and -Behold! You are an arteeeest.

Way to accomplish something meaningful in the 'deary monotonous regime of the 'man' who by forcing us into a narrow idealistic work force means to squash our souls and rip away the freedom of our life force...'

Yeah. Whatever.

So work and play are seemly to intermingling continously - can't tell which is which: probably why my hair is going even more curly under the stress. Funny how you get those little notices. Your neck turns into a concrete block, you feel sick half the time - either from over eating, or under eating and when your hobbies cause you guilt and more stress well I think it's time to quit your day job!

But aside from that - I've decided to do something increadably radical for me! I am NOT, I repeat NOT going to get a second - no, wait, third job for the Christmas holidays. Ok - so I might only be working two days a week for the month of January next year (gasp-shock-horror) but I guess I can 'slack' off for a bit. I might even take a break! *snort*

Or not. I'll see how I go. The plan at the moment is to use that time to really work on my art - specifically Gamenian and tranditional art practises. Oh - that reminds me - started a new picture last night. Exciting stuff!

GTG (it's almost lunch time) - b.

Wednesday, August 20

*brain melts*

Gah. *brain melts* I'm utterly exhausted.

Did uni all day today - but that also included an interview with a recruitment agency. It went well, the agency even said that there was a job that they'd put me forward for right away. I hate to say 'It sounds perfect'; 'coz every dang time I say that - I never get the stupid job!! Plus, they might have already fill the position. So I'll just say that it sounds good. And that I hope that I get it. But other than that, it's life. We'll see how we go.

Been working on Gamenian lots - I sure hope we get the manuscript finished before the end of 2009, I want to graduate and send in the manuscript! I think we might even be able to do it; after all, I'll keep working on it, pushing my sister and we'll get through. It's really getting on now too. Yay!!! >_<

Opened up a new Deviant account for my professional art. It'll have to do until I earn enough to get a professional to design a gallery website for me. I don't think my sister and I can quite get our own site off the ground. And it just doesn't look all that good. Anyway - I'm going to make a banner for the page and I'll put up some of my better pieces. I'll try and show a good range - one of these days I will get to a professional status as an artist!

:3, b.

P.s - Any one who wants comission me - just leave me a note on my deviant comments. I will do anything for a good price.

*whaaaa!* :'(

Life sucks. I just wanna go back to my nice little Teen Ranch Bubble. Sure, things weren't always the greatest over there - I had my share of stresses over friends and suckiness, but I don't remember it being this hard to get up in the mornings...

"I'm a nightmare/
A disaster/
That's what they always said/
I'm a lost cause/
Not a hero....."

Everything is just wack at the moment. My Dad's in hospital with a crushed foot and the only offer of help I get comes from an online chat with someone who is very sweet, but I scarcely know them.

My sister has a random aches and pains - the doctors don't know what's wrong. She's had tests - but no results....

My friends are giving me major headaches. I'm walking on eggshells - and basically I'm dammed if I do, and absolutely dammed if I don't... *cries*

I don't know what to do!!! I don't know who to turn to, I don't know why things got this bad.

"I cry out with no reply/
And I can feel you by my side....

And though you're invisible/
I trust in you."

But enough of the emo-muffin-ness. You don't want to read about my black and blue emotions - they'll just turn you emo too!

Bruised but hanging in there,

Back home - so what to do?

I have two choices, much like all of life, I'm making them with no idea how or where or why I'm doing this..... Okay, so I exaggerate a litte. A bit. Alright already - a LOT!

I do know why, or where, but as to time? Well, a little lost there. I have two choices (I think) either stay at uni this semester and do two more subjects I don't need to do to graduate (This is I think part - I've gotta make sure that's the case) or stop uni and look for a job until next year. The problem is finding a job. Nobody's hiring.... :p

So left or right? Yay or nay? I dunno; I'm still waiting on an email from my course convenor. University people are so dang slow!!! All I need is a blinkin yes or no answer! I don't even know if it's too late to drop out yet. Gr.

Anyways, on that front it's more than a little stressful; but that's life.

Trying to get my website up and running so that I can get on with my mission to get my art work published! Yes, I have determined a new life goal of becoming a professional author/artist, but of course, that takes a heck of a lot of work, so it'll take a while. But I will succeed!!!!

Laterz - I gotta go peek at this movie.

Advice

It's a funny old world sometimes - I kinda wonder if

a). the same thoughts are shared by an entire community it's either an x-file case or everyone just sees the same thing when they look at me.

b). if life is ever the way you want it to be - aka: just like in the movies!!!

In regards to a). - it relates to all the advice we have been given about our trip. We have had varing levels of information; random scattered tit-bits of wisdom and knowledge. And then there's the advice about boys...

Everyone (and I do mean everyone!) seems to think that we are either going overseas to hook-up or be mobed(by said boys)!!! Lol. No one has even bothered to tell us to absorb the culture, or how to get on with the locals, let alone given us any advice on how to get from place to place. Just to stay away from the boys if it's from my dad, my pastor, and any other guy. If it's from a girl it's just - "You are so going to come back with an Italian boyfriend!"!!! That and French guys are nice. =.=

*shakes head* What is the world coming to if the only reason to travel is to get a bf?

But I love the people that gave us the advice, and I thank them for thinking of us.

Mean while I'm just setting my sights on Hong Kong - ssshhhhhoooooppppppiinnnnnggggggggg!

So much fun!

*meep* It's tomorrow! It's tomorrow! It's tomorrow! I can't believe that one and a half years of planing and saving is finally coming to fruition!!! @-@

Go figure!

Counting down

I can't believe it, but this time next week Emi and I will be waiting at the airport to take off to Hong Kong. I am unbelievably excited because it is going to be the most awesome thing ever!

Heh. And so we wait. Counting down the days, the hours, the seconds.

In the mean time, our bedroom demands attention - we are spring cleaning (yes, in summer) to prepare for our trip away. We are getting rid of all the junk that we can. In a way it's almost like preparing our bedroom for two different travelers to return.

I mean, this is huge for us. We haven't ever done anything like this ever before. I guess it's time to find out whether that independent streak I've been cursed (blessed?) with will come through for me.

I tell you what though, I will miss everyone while we're over there. Yes, I love the trill of exploring new places, meeting new people - but I do have a very special group of friends here. I guess that makes the home-coming so much sweeter....

Is anyone else feeling sick? :p

*interrupts ramble*

I haven't spilled regarding the awesomeness that was SummerNats, so I will let my sister (who went with me, as well as our 'retinue' of bodyguards [guys from HBC that insisted that we had to go with a large group of protectors; aren't they sweet?]) regale you with the tale.

Random's Blog

Hot cars, hot guys...

All thanks to Summernats!!!! *sigh* sooo many hot cars... the boys ain't bad either, but the hot cars... there were Corvettes, Mustangs - even an Lamborghini! Although apparently the Lamborghini was just a kit, and not a real one, but it was hot anyway. Lots of muscle cars - blowers, (gets more air into the engines) huge engines that roar, and turbo (makes car go faster) galore. Then there were the pretty cars - side skirts, grates, spoilers, rims(Stuff that goes on the front and side of the cars, the stuff in tires, and the sticky-up thing on the back end of the car) - the lot. But they were REALLY pretty. ^.^

I know a lot of you are probably going 'shut up about cars' but one last thing... we watched the burnouts of two guys doing a faceoff. One of them blew his engine and had to get his car pushed off the track. The other guy - get this - had a 2500bhp car!!!!! HOLY COW!!!!!!!!! He completely blew his tires. But still... HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!!!

*And just to add to that post - I agree totally... Hot cars! Some of them where jumping like crickets they had so much power in the engine. And then some of them *thumps rib cage* you could feel the power - right in the middle of you. It was so incredible!

But that's it from me for a while.

Ciao ~ b.

Flying times

Christmas - came, went, is gone. I'm so busy working, I hardly notice anyways! I'll tell you what has gotten me more vamped up (even more than my pretty new silver hoops, but not as much as my ichigo [strawberry] Pocky Bag [!!!!! *eeee*] or my dead-foxy seklington t-shirt) is that I'm going to SummerNats!!!

It'll be my first SummerNats (awesomely cool car show for those that aren't in the know) and I can't wait.

Other then that I've got road trips (one dayers) and movies, and other good times (New Year's fun) to keep me going in between the mountains of work I am currently swamped under.

Tis all good.

.......

Gah. Sometimes I wish stuff would just go away. End of discussion.

Tuesday, December 18

So long... No Talky

Yup. I know it's been so long and I haven't said a word. My bad!!

I've just been so busy with uni and then after uni, finding a second job, after finding a second job, working both jobs and when I'm not doing that TRYING to get my passport and other incidentals sorted out for Europe 08.

AHHHHHHHHH! I'm going to Europe for like 6 months in like 1 month's time!! Oo

And now you get the overview of what my life has been like for the last month or so.

BTW - our choir sung Handel's Hallelujah Chorus. WE SUNG THE HALLELUJAH CHORUS!! That's supposed to be one of the hardest choir pieces. Not only that, we sung it to a CD. Double hardness. And I sung soprano - which is an achievement considering I'm a metso-soprano. So much fun!

Life has been so-so for the while; nothing really much except busy, busy, busy.

I have gotten back into horse riding but. I guess for a while there I just lost interest 'coz we had sold my pony Tango, and I missed him. But now we have Copper, who is brilliant to ride, so that's alot more fun. Takes up a lot of the little free time I have though!

Change the subject - you know when you just ramble on and you feel like such an idiot but you can't seem to stop? I was doing that the other night, talking to this guy I know. And he was just looking down at me (he is uber tall) and smiling one of those crooked, 'amused' smiles. Now I feel like a bakka* as I think about it. Yeh; and the really bad thing is I don't know if he thought all the chatter burbling from me WAS amusing or just plain stupid.

People say I'm cute. But I don't know. I'd rather be elegant, or mysterious, or cool - or anything but cute! You can get away with 'cute' if you're in a manga, but my life is NOT an Japanese Fairy Tale, (oh how I wish it was sometimes!!) The thing with cute is it also only works as long as you're young. I can get away with it now - I guess, but what happens when I'm older?

Stupido cute.

(*My friends and I have a new word - "bakka: idiot in Japanese)

Why do I care anyway?

I suppose I'm bored at the moment. Which is stupid again because I have an awesome set of family and friends and will be traveling overseas (ultimate adventure style - low budget!) in just one month and two weeks approximately.

Cele la vie.

I'll get over it. I think the thing is with adventure, it looks so glamourous, and like so much 'fun' actionwise - and maybe it is. But it's gotta end at some point and "...they all lived happily ever after." I'm just at the "ever after" point without ever having reached the adventure. This is a good thing yes?

.... No?

Ohwell,

So much to do - so little time to do it in... I have to find a job, get some money, organize our trip, have Christmas, and Christmas Carols, plus other stuff - all in the space of three months... Eeep!

Let's fly away

Guess what????

Our trip to Europe is officially on!!! XD It's sooo exciting - my sister and I found places to stay - one in Italy for a month, then we'll be off to Scotland for three-four months. EEEEEEEEEPPPPPP!!!!!!

It's our first trip overseas, and I'm really looking forwards to it. I can hardly believe everything worked out in like, the space of two weeks!

So, as of February the 4th, 2008, Emi and I will be heading overseas....

YAY!

Thursday, October 11

Holla *coff* at yer girl *sniff*

Gah. I hate being ill. 'Tis the bain of my existence.

Plus, I'm stressing because I am sooo running behind in my uni work. *le sigh* But at least when you're sick you lose weight! Yay! Go positive side of sweating, chills, sniffles, migraines, joint pain and coughs! >3<

And that's all I have to say.

Buh-bye now...

Tuesday, October 2

Black Stump - it came, it went, it was GREAT!

I can hardly believe that Black Stump is over for another year...

Crazy man, just crazy...

But it was awesome and I got to go!!! I saw (and liked) John Smith, Antiskeptic, Scat, Jigzag, Maverick, the comedy shows, Stump comedy debate, and the Stump Battle of the Bands. I also so some other things, but wasn't so impressed - but I am not naming names...

I had a great time chillaxing, but I swear! The dust was aweful! Just imaging the dusty-est dust bowl you ever could, and times it by 100. Then you are getting close to Stump. One photo I took inside a tent, when I was at the back, consisted of some heads close by and, you guessed it... Dust.

I am still coughing up black stuff.

But it was awesome, and we got to eat cookies all weekend! Yay! Go cookies!

Monday, September 10

Ahhh

So don't you just love the holidays? Sure - they don't last very long, and I've still got a list of stuff to do as long as my arm, but I love it how I get to sleep in!! XD.

er. Yeah.

W000T holidaysssss!

Malicious femininity

squishes my toes

as I tug on the sides of my skirt and do that hip butt wiggle wiggle thing

was I supposed to be sultry today

or matronly

or capable like a man

willing?

vulnerable?

coquettish?

do I shake his hand

eye contact, firm grip

or merely tilt my head

relying my feminine nature

No, I didn't write this - I wish I did, but all credit goes to xx_starchild_xx on Live Journal. My comment on this piece?

Too true mate - too true!

I really love it 'coz it seems to sum up the conundrum that the modern woman faces. We can have it both ways - be independent and manly, or feminine and flirty/coy/capricious - whatever mood strikes us. Too bad it adds to the wardrobe problem - will I wear a skirt/dress/short with those sandals/boots/heels with that mood flirty/strong/independent/gentle/bubbly/c
orporate - the choices are endless!! 0.o

doing things

Okay, so I'm doing lotsa things - uni, stuff, art, stuff, oh! Oh! Watching Foxtel stuff! *squeee* Soo excited - we've finally gotten Foxtel at home and I just love it.... Yay for the Cartoon Network! I watched "Memoirs of a Geisha" (sp?) yesterday - I loved it!
Heh - I didn't even shed a tear *so proud* - I thought it was good - and I really enjoyed the scenery - purttiful Japan. I can't wait to go over there!

In between all the stuff and bother, I've decided that when I come back from Europe, have finished my degree and have a full time job, I'm gonna get a new (second-hand car). But guess whats really exciting! It's gonna be one of these:

a Toyota Supra, 1993-94, but fully kitted out-

or a Nissan Skyline - one of these!

Aren't they just the most to say the least? Of course, my preference is for red or black color wise, and some luffly sub woofers in the boot, but second-hand means not much choice. But like I really care - after BoB ANYTHING is an improvement! Not that I'm complaining, I'm lucky to have a car that is reliable. I just also adore driving high-performance cars.... As in totally nuts about them!

Besides all that, the term is trotting along abominably fast - end of this week and it's class free for two weeks! Plus, once that's over, before you know it the end of semester will be looming upon us, and with it - trip to Europe!!!!!!!!!! @.@

In the mean time, I'm have fun hanging out with some new friends from church (well, old friends now - we've been doing stuff for about two months or so now) and I can't wait for Black Stump - it's in one month and one day!!!
AND I AM SO GOING THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!

(random insert) With a T - I - Double G-rrr, Pokachou I choose you!

Panic attack!

*Aiiya!*

So the story goes like this -
right
- It was a dark and stormy night -
no it wasn't! It was today you silly nitwit!

Oh yeah.

Anyways, if my silly head (not silly) will stop interrupting I can get to work...

Right, so like I was saying, today I received the positively worstest grade I have EVER gotten!!!

(ok - over exaguration- Muse tends to do that a bit. It was 11/20, so I passed by one mark)

I got an instant case of "Emo-muffiness" and got TOTALLY depressed. But once the tut. finished, my tutor asked to speak to me and said that basically I didn't deserve the grade I got, but because I didn't set it out properly that's what I got!

I was sooo relieved when she said that. Basically I just have to talk to her before I hand in my assignment next time and I'll be ok.

CHEERS!!!

XD, I'm-happy-now, tb.

Almost done.

*~~~*~~~*~~~

Ausika's log 0850 hours:

I take up pen once more, only to confirm a rumor of the direst consequences. It is beyond my reckoning as to how these events were set in motion, but they where and of that I have no doubt. It was after the successful operation that took out Captain Takkahi's ship, The Trade Wind that I first learned of the whisper.

It is rumored that under the guidance of the Pirate King, the Pirates are sailing for destinations unknown. So it seems that in the manner they arrived, suddenly and without warning, is the manner they shall leave.

But not if I have anything to do with it.

It was over a steaming cup of Jasmine tea that I learned of the deeper reasons for the Pirate's abrupt departure, and that made me all the more determined to stow away and finish this war.....

I had knelt at the rough pine table, with no more thought on my mind than to escape the perpetual whining of the guild leaders. Head of the Saber clan I had been for five long years. I was well on the way to out-striping the Venerable Donji, the only female leader besides myself sit in this position. And now the leaders of the Ninja clans wanted me to pick a successor for my title - that or be wed and by the stars above will I not be married off like a water buffalo up for auction!!

So it was such circumstances that brought me to the local village tea house, in disguise of course. No one would think of searching for the Sensei of the Sabar clan in a homely little place as this. Though, aside, I quite enjoyed the informalities of the affair. And for their credit, their tea is almost as good as my personal brew. Almost, but not quite.

There, alone with my thoughts drifting on the spirals of sweet scented jasmine, a muted conversation caused me to pick my ears.

It would appear that the pirates are leaving to search for an ancient relic. And with this relic they were going to set up a kingdom on the opposing island of Yuna. We had the larger land mass - our home island being shaped like a crescent moon, Rue slightly encircled the island of Yuna. The guild leaders had begun settling Yuna when the pirates had disrupted our plans many centuries ago. They had formed a barrier between the motherland and our stranded companions. Once in a while a brave, if foolhardy, ninja would slip between the pirate ranks and bring us messages from the island.

We had not heard a word from the communities across the sea in the last five years. This was our worse fear - if the clans have not been able to retain control of the island, with this new relic the pirates would be in the finest position to take that land as their outpost.

The war would never cease until one of our kind was eliminated....

I vow it will not be the Ninja Clans. To seal this vow I had left the tea house and climbed to the summit of
Mt. Eifnur. There the we, as leaders, met with our thoughts and planned the futures of our peoples. It was upon my head to stop this calamity - a task I only hoped I was capable of completing....

In the deep cool of the night I knelt in a tiny cave dedicated for the clan senseis alone and breathed in the soft wind that caressed my hair. In my mind's eye I could see the ships departing and the false hope spreading like a plague amongst our people. I could see the months of peace, and even years of quiet whilst our senses grew dull with stupor. Than the fear, the sudden strike that would decimate our lands and leave us helpless under the heel of the pirates. A cry of rage grew within my breast at the thought and I knew what had to be done.

I would sail out with pirates on the eve of my four and twenty years...

Asuika dropped her head. Alone in the depth of Mt. Eifnur, the scroll and pen fell from her shaking hand. She had never left her home lands, she had no friend to turn to, no one to bid farewell.

She did not know if this was a thing to rejoice over, or to weep. Whom could she turn to but the stars? Cold comfort their shining beauty was, and she allowed one tear. Just one cool droplet to slip down her cheek, one farewell to all she knew as home.

The guild leaders would only activate a final strike if they knew of these events - an occurance that would leave the pirates severly crippled to be sure, but defeated? Who knew....

No.

Asuika lifted her eyes. To use their own weapons against them - that was the way to grantee success. She would make sure that the pirates would never return to her homeland. It was the only way....

Just about finished you know! One more, maybe two more "chapters" and it'll be done. Comment or criticism anyone?

weirdnEss, fun and ninjAs

Nine words women use...

1.) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

2.) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

3.) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

4.) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

5.) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and
arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing.)

6.) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7.) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say you're welcome.

8.) Whatever: Is a women's way of saying F!@# YOU!

9.) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking "What's wrong?" For the woman's response refer to #3.

I found this on Live Journal - this awesome community I am now addicted too -(just add it too thelist) - http://djinnthespazz.livejournal.com/ is the link for reference. It's cool though inn't? I reckon it's about 100% correct too... Fellas - take note! ;D Oh yeah - I'm Asuika on Live Journal - check it out if ya want. Oh, and here's Part 2 of the ninja vs pirate story.

Enjoy!
