Pearl Hair Comb ~ Etsy Pearl Necklace ~ Antique Shop Striped Top ~ Thrifted Apple Broach ~ Love Vintage Show Tulle Skirt ~ Thrifted Shoes ~ Too old; I can’t remember!
~ * ♥ * ~
I have been wearing this tulle skirt a lot ~ which is good because when I first bought it I was a bit worried that it was too formal, and that I wouldn’t get much use out of it. For some reason, however, it seems really easy for me to wear at the moment.
I think it may be because I do not have to wear a belt with it. The contrast of the satin waist band does a good enough job of making my waist visible. I don’t know about you, but I have found that even though I love the high~waisted, Dior’s “New Look” style, it doesn’t really do much for me unless I wear a belt or have something that defines my waist. If I don’t, my belly looks sooo blobby and I hate that!!
Sometimes dressing seems like such a lot of effort! Do you ever wish you could just chuck it all in and wear a sack, but still look good? I do, but then I remember how much fun I have dressing up, and I am all into it again. ; P Some days I still like to go for jeans and a simple top though, just for the ease of the throw on, feel good outfit. I am saving my pennies for a 1950s styled pair{or two or three.. Let’s be realistic here; it is me!} so that I can keep my vintage look, but still be comfortable.
What are your throw-on, feel good, go to outfits? May be I can gather up a few tips for the days when I just feel like being a mother and not a doll. > ω <
xox,

gosh that is one pretty skirt. I tend to throw on jeans and a sweater when I'm feeling lazy which is basically every Sunday :)

The fifth photo is amazing, with your lipstick echoing the colour of the roses.
ReplyDeleteMy throw on outfits tend to include oversized silk shirts with jeans or trousers. I know a silk shirt doesn't sound very practical - but it feels really good; stylish but relaxed at the same time.
My throw-on outfits are usually simple dresses - lighter cotton ones for the warmer weather, heavier jersey-type ones for Winter. Failing that, the warmer weather inspires me to throw on some nice shorts and a t-shirt or floral top. Easy and fun.
ReplyDeleteYou look fab!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lindsay. : )
ReplyDeleteMm, dresses are great to throw on ~ particularly in summer. However, a distinct lack of easy access takes them out my wardrobe at the moment! I am trying to remedy that by making/acquiring as many shirt waist dresses as possible! : P
ReplyDeleteYes, I love it when something unexpected like that turns up! I didn't plan my lipstick to match the roses, but it worked out well. : D
ReplyDeleteI don't have any silk shirts in my wardrobe yet; I shall have to keep my eye out for one. Although I'd probably be afraid that Theo would throw up on it! Liquids and silk don't really go together... > <
Yeh, go the good ol' jeans. They certainly do help out every once in a while! : D
ReplyDeleteyou always look like the epitome of elegance in your sartorial posts. I think what makes this outfit here are your red lips and the way you did your hair. so chic.
ReplyDeleteThat is one cute outfit.
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy, I appreciate the compliment! I think red lips are so much fun; they do really add a pop of color to any outfit. :D
