So I promised I would show how I style my crochet collars, and here is the outfit for it. :D
Accessories ~ Hair Bow {Diva} Earrings {Equip} Collar {b dot depictions ~ me!! :D}
Ring Featured in the Last Picture ~ My wedding bands, designed by me and made at The Village Jewellers in Manuka
Glasses {I actually need them for reading ~ so they are the real deal}
Jumper ~ Thrifted Shirt ~ Best & Less {although you can only see the bottom of it}
Jeans ~ Primark {UK ~ Oh, I miss that shop… : ( } Shoes ~ I can’t remember.
I love my red shoes although they are quite hard to walk in! You have to have bare feet in them or they fall off, which is so bad for summer, and they are just really stiff so they don’t flex with your foot. But boy, they look cute! So naturally, I don’t care. I tend to wear them more in winter and only if I am going places that are flat and I don’t have to walk all that much. ; p
And *gasp, shock, horror* I am in jeans!! Yes, I do wear pants occasionally {besides to the horse, where they become a must, not an exception}. I would love to have a pair of linen slacks ~ bother, I can not think what era it is, but I can see them in my head perfectly. Or maybe more than one pair! Just so when I feel like having a pant wearing day, I do not have to wear jeans unless I really, really want to.
Oh, here’s a picture of the style I am talking about.
The only difference I would have would be to raise the crotch of the pants substantially. Other then that ~ it have a tick of approval. I would also love a pair that had buttons down the side and wide cuff for the pant leg hem. I can see future projects coming up! Now I just have to track down this pattern in my size….
Which is a Bust 36” if anyone finds the pattern and does not want it! Incidentally, that makes me a size 16 for the first time in my life…. O___o That is kind of trippy. >> Does anyone else get weirded out by vintage sizing?
It is strange, but I have noticed that the number on the tag seems to make quite a difference to whether you feel great about wearing an article of clothing or not. Or is it just me? I try to go on how the clothes look and fit rather than by tags, but I tell you what, it still throws me off from time to time.
It is very easy to get into the mentality that size “….” equates to being “fat” or larger than what you would happy to be. I think personally, it’s because we keep being told that over dot size is fat and that in order to be pretty you have got to be a size eight {US size 6} or smaller.
Never mind that fact that every brand of clothing uses a different sizing system, so a size 6 in one store is a size 12 in another! {Yes, I speak from experience}
So what about you ~ do you find it hard to accept that you may be a vintage size 20? Or is it an non issue?
