Yeh, so I guess the title says it all, I'm really struggling to find the motivation to finish the last of my uni assignments. It doesn't help when your gorgeous sisters are sick and miserable, so they decide to pass the misery around because we all know that misery loves company!
It's some sort of fever/flue/bug thing and I 'ates it.... :P
In other news; it takes a lot more work to plan a wedding than I ever really thought about.... Yup, you'll never believe it but because Facebook says so - "It must be true!" (yuh-huh, sure...) someone who actually popped up in this blog at one point popped the question. And now that the FB status is finally changed (from 'single' to 'engaged' no less) I can finally blog about it. No, I'm not going to tell you who it is - if you really want to know you might be able to guess, but it'll take a bit of back-reading!
So anyways, joke of the century, but somehow I'm learning to be domestic! *gaspshockhorror* It's really quite laughable, but at least once I put my mind to it I don't seem to be doing all that badly(So far..... But there is one incident that has been struck from the record book and will never be mentioned on pain of death!!!).
Funnily enough, it's the after wedding stuff which is occupying my mind rather than the actual wedding plans. After all, it's not the day that makes the marriage, it's the years that follow. I'd rather just rock up and get married than do all the fuss, but you know I do have to make some decisions.
My Dad is already over the 'wedding chatter' as he dubs it - but I hate to tell you, it's going to be occurring for a lot longer yet(okay - five months, one week and a half - yes, I'm counting - have too to get everything done!)...
No wonder I can't concentrate on uni though!!
Social commentary time - (I get so bored writing about life, sometimes it's so much more amusing to ramble about the world instead).
It's strange to me how brides will spend thousands and thousands, hours and hours and hours on the wedding, yet never seem to have a thought in their head about what they are going to do with their life after the 'big event' (and I don't mean the honeymoon part either....!)
So much more is required than making the day perfect. It's one day. You have at least 18,250 days after that which are far more important to make perfect. Especially if you actually want to make it to your 50th wedding anniversary!
I suppose it's not like the brides don't think about all of that, but it seems to me that too much emphasis and way too much importance is put on the day rather than the rest of them. And, sure there are always exceptions, and I'm not saying that there aren't. I'm just talking generally here.
My little rant is over - I've officially had my say, and like usual, probably said too much! ; )
In other pointless news and ranting, isn't interesting how the weather has been crazy-phsyco (and apparently I can't spell phsyco.) lately? What is with that btw?? I mean seriously, it is totally annoying how we've been going from mid-winter and I'm back in four layers of winter clothing to 27 degrees of mid-summer in a week!! Well, if that's not global warming I don't know what is... We are all going to die peoples! Die I tell yoooouu!
But anywho.
b. out. It's dinner time.
I have to agree with the wedding thing. After spending a whole year working with someone who was getting married, i quickly learned it makes them useless because it has to be this HUGE extragavigant day.... not that much changed after the wedding actually happened, but I totally agree with you.
